Indirect Water Bath Heaters have a long history of successful application in the oil and gas industry. They have been used in operations ranging from heating natural gas to heating sour crude oil. The heater consists of three basic elements; the fire tube (firebox), the heater shell, and the process coil. The fire tube is designed to transfer heat, released by the combustion of fuel, into the water bath. The shell is designed to contain the heat transfer media. The process coil is designed to safety contain the process fluid and transfer the required heat from the water bath into the process stream.

The Indirect Water Bath Heaters is commonly used in applications requiring a maximum bath temperature of 203°F (95°C) and a normal bath temperature of 158°F to 194°F (70°C a 90°C). Some typical heating applications are:
• High pressure gas and/or oil in oil field production
• Gas in Thermo power plants, to heat the gas before the turbines.
• Gas at the city Gate stations or take-offs from the main transmission gas pipelines.
• High viscosity oils to reduce pumping pressures, thereby increasing pipeline capacities.
• Low pour point, produced crude oil stream for return into the annulus of the oil well to keep tubing and rods clear of paraffin
• Light hydrocarbon liquids for stabilization or turbo-expansion.

Thermal capacity of indirect heaters varies from 12,600 kcal/h (50,000 BTU/h) to 2,520,000 kcal/h (10,000,000 Btu/h).

Advantages of Gascat heaters:
a) electric power supply by solar panels or totally pneumatic system;
b) complete automatic ignition system option;
c) All necessary instruments (temperature, pressure, level, flame fail detection) for a safe and reliable operation;
d) does not need human presence for operation;
e) reduction in the maintenance indication (preventive/corrective);
f) thermal capacity between 12,600 kcal/h (50,000 BTU/h) to 2,520,000 kcal/h (10,000,000 Btu/h). Other capacities can be made under consult;
g) attends ABNT NBR-12313 and CSA B 149.3-00 standards for the combustion train.
h) Design and fabrication according to API 12K.
