Gascat has launched recently tree models of Gas Pressure Regulator with Silencers.

Most of the noise in a pressure regulator is generated by the gas travelling at high velocity trough the regulators port.

The sound is transferred to the piping which in turn radiates it into the environment.

The noise in a station therefore not only emanates from the pressure regulator, but also from the piping in particular downstream.

A whisper trim cage is most efficient as a noise attenuation device since is reducing the noise at the source where it really started.

Gascat has developed a metal foam to insert at their regulators like Argos; Horus and Uranos.

This attenuation by empiric test has showed reductions up to 20 DB depending of operations conditions.
